Local Priorities

Strengthening Long Eaton together

Long Eaton has many strengths: a proud history, a strong community, and a diverse mix of independent

The Long Eaton Business Partnership focuses on practical priorities that can help the town continue to grow and thrive.

Our work is organised around three connected areas.

A safer and more welcoming town centre

A thriving high street begins with an environment where people feel comfortable spending time.

The Partnership works with businesses, local partners, and community organisations to help improve the day-to-day experience of Long Eaton for residents, visitors, and businesses

This includes supporting conversations and initiatives around:

  • community safety
  • antisocial behaviour
  • cleanliness and the public realm
  • accessibility and parking
  • improving the overall welcome of the town centre

The goal is simple: a town centre where people feel confident, safe, and proud to spend time.

A stronger sense of connection and belonging

Thriving towns are built on relationships as much as infrastructure.

The Partnership helps bring businesses and organisations together, so they feel part of something bigger than their individual premises.

This includes:

  • improving communication between businesses
  • helping promote local events and activity
  • supporting collaboration between organisations
  • helping residents and businesses stay informed about what is happening locally

When people feel connected to their town, they are far more likely to support it.

A stronger local economy

Long Eaton has a long tradition of enterprise and innovation.

The Partnership works to support local economic activity by encouraging collaboration between businesses and strengthening connections between employers, education, and the community.

This includes:

  • encouraging organisations to source goods and services locally where possible
  • supporting local supply chains and collaboration between businesses
  • working with schools and partners to support skills, work experience, and entrepreneurship
  • promoting Long Eaton as a place where businesses can start, grow and succeed

Our focus is on building long-term economic resilience rather than short-term interventions.

Listening to the town

A successful town centre must reflect the needs of the people who use it.

The Partnership therefore places strong emphasis on listening to residents, businesses, and young people about their experiences of the town and their hopes for the future.

Insights gathered through surveys, conversations and community engagement help shape priorities and guide the work of the Partnership.

Looking ahead

Long Eaton’s future will be shaped by collaboration, ambition, and practical action.

The Long Eaton Business Partnership exists to help bring people together around that shared goal and to support the long-term success of the town and its high street.
