Updates & Insights

Turning ideas into action

The Long Eaton Business Partnership was formed to bring businesses and partners together around a shared goal: helping Long Eaton thrive.

While the Partnership is still developing, early conversations have already demonstrated the strength of interest in the future of the town centre and the willingness of local people to work collaboratively.

This page will provide updates on the progress of the Partnership and the initiatives emerging from its work.

Listening to the town

Understanding how residents and businesses experience Long Eaton is an essential starting point.

The Partnership is gathering insights from across the community to better understand:

  • how people currently use the town centre
  • what works well today
  • the challenges people experience
  • the opportunities residents and businesses see for the future

These insights will help shape practical priorities and guide future activity.

Working with partners

Improving a town centre requires cooperation across many organisations.

The Partnership is working constructively with a range of partners including:

  • local businesses and employers
  • community organisations
  • Erewash Borough Council
  • local representatives including our Member of Parliament
  • health and wellbeing partners
  • educational institutions
  • investors and regeneration partners

By strengthening connections between these groups, the Partnership aims to support a more coordinated and effective approach to local improvement.

Supporting local activity

A vibrant town centre depends on activity, visibility, and collaboration.

The Partnership will support initiatives that strengthen Long Eaton’s local economy and community life. This may include:

  • promoting local events and activity
  • supporting collaboration between businesses
  • encouraging new ideas that attract people into the town centre
  • helping highlight opportunities for local enterprise and investment

Where possible, the Partnership will also share examples of successful initiatives and learning from other towns.

A long-term approach

Town centres do not change overnight.

The Partnership’s work is focused on supporting steady, practical progress over time rather than quick fixes. By building relationships, gathering evidence, and encouraging collaboration, the aim is to help create the conditions for long-term success.

Updates on progress and key developments will be shared here as the work evolves.

Stay involved

The future of Long Eaton will be shaped by the people who live and work here.

Residents, businesses, and organisations who would like to stay informed or contribute ideas are encouraged to get involved and follow the work of the Partnership as it develops.

Long Eaton has many strengths and significant opportunity.

The purpose of the Long Eaton Business Partnership is to help bring people together around that shared future and to support the town’s continued success.
